✅ What Are Medicaid Waivers?

Florida offers a Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver so individuals with developmental disabilities can live in the community—in homes like yours—rather than in an institution.

✅ What Services Can Waiver Funding Cover?

Depending on the Individual Support Plan (ISP), services may include:

  • Residential group home services

  • Supported living coaching

  • Personal care assistance

  • Transportation

  • Community inclusion/day activities

  • Behavioral services

✅ Who Is Eligible?

To qualify, a person must:

  1. Apply and be found eligible by APD🔗 https://apd.myflorida.com/services/apply.htm

  2. Meet Florida’s criteria for developmental disability

  3. Meet Medicaid income & functional criteria

Families may be placed on a waitlist, but individuals may still receive some services prior to waiver funding.
